Dr. Linda Mizell will present her lecture, "Proclaiming Freedom: African Americans and the Lincoln Legacy" as the third installment of the museum's Abraham Lincoln Lecture Series. Dr. Linda Mizell is an Assistant Professor of Education at the University of Colorado at Boulder who specializes in issues of class, race and gender in the history of education in the United States and in social studies teacher education, and is an educational historian, teacher educator and educational consultant. As a Lecturer in the Department of Education at Tufts University from 2000 to 2007, she taught courses on the history of education, the theory and practice of critical multicultural education, and education for social justice.
