Aboriginality (Canada, 2007) - 5 min
Directed By Dominique Keller
Part of the Take Up the Torch film collection, appropriate for ages 11 to 13

Modernity melds with the past when Native American youth leave the reservations to experience the outside world. Their indigenous art, music and culture mix with contemporary hip hop and breakdancing to create new art forms with a link to traditional heritages. The experiences of one young boy who leaves the “rez” to bring positive change are documented in this live-action/animated dance hybrid.
