On March 26, at 6PM, KABF 88.3's the Urban Hang Suite and the T.U.R.N. project (The Underground Railroad Neighborhood project) will be hosting the 2nd annual Woman's Worth Art celebration. Proceeds will benefit the T.U.R.N. project and KABF community radio.

There is an indescribable yearning in an artist to tell a story, a musician through instruments; a dancer through the fluid movement of limbs; a singer through the emotion and range of a melody; a painter through intense strokes of a paintbrush, and a writer through words. March 26th we will take a moment to reflect on the contribution of female Arkansans to art and business at the 2nd annual "Woman's Worth" celebration held at the Lulav's V-lounge located at 211 6th street.

Every year at "A Woman’s Worth" we take a moment to honor the originality, beauty, imagination and multiple dimensions of women's lives and to reflect on the contribution of women to the arts as well as the world of business. A "Woman's Worth" is a platform for women artist to express themselves and speak on behalf of our voiceless sisters. Together we will give our perspective, protest, commemorate, mourn, laugh and generally assert our worth as artist's while enjoying food, and drink donated by our sponsors.

The idea of the celebration is to create opportunities for women artist's to showcase and sell their work as well as to network and make connections with like-minded individuals. This Year's event provides a special opportunity to discover and celebrate art and experiences in a variety of forms and mediums that help expand our perceptions of each other and ourselves. We ask that men not feel excluded but rather cross into these boundaries with us as we explore ourselves mentally, physically, spiritually, socially, politically and economically.

This year's lineup includes, but is not limited to, female visual artist, poets, singers, musicians, painters and dancers. We will have merchandise tables set up for display and purchasing of the artist work and business opportunities.

Founded in 2004 The Underground Railroad Neighborhood (T.U.R.N.) project is a tax-exempt, not-for-profit creative literacy group. T.U.R.N. tries to achieve its goal by exposing all to arts. Our activities include various workshops, theatrical productions, visits to correctional facilities and juvenile centers, as well as a weekly hip-hop after-school program.
