This award-winning documentary follows five Ethiopian women suffering from debilitating childbirth injuries. Rejected by their husbands and ostracized by their communities, these women are left to spend the rest of their lives in loneliness and shame. Director Mary Olive Smith follows them on their journey to a special hospital in Addis Ababa where they find solace for the first time in years.

A talk and Q&A with Kate Grant, Executive Director of the Fistula Foundation, follows the screening. (2007, 85 min. No MPAA rating. In English and Amharic with English subtitles.)
