In 1965, promising young filmmaker Danny Williams fell in love with Andy Warhol, and moved in with the artist and his mother. Quickly a fixture on the Warhol Factory scene, Williams made over 20 films and designed the groundbreaking Velvet Underground/Exploding Plastic Inevitable light show.

When Warhol ended their affair in 1966, Williams returned to his family home in Massachusetts, and from there he simply disappeared. Filmmaker Esther Robinson is Danny Wilson's niece, and although she never met him, she became fascinated by his story. A Walk into the Sea is her extraordinary investigation into his life, his death, and the unsurpassed contribution he made to Warhol's legacy as an avant-garde filmmaker.
