A Rugged Shore develops common themes from U.S. and Canadian cultures, such as our shared coastline. Human Landscape Dance will present Greek myths that have been integrated into our upbringing, including an Odyssey that emphasizes Penelope's experience. Nova Scotian Susan Cook will dance her solo exploration of “My Favorite Things,” questioning the feminine stereotypes that underlie the song. Dance expert Karen Bradley will contribute an essay on her search for the American Dream, and finding it in Canada.
