PHP is an open-source, cross-platform, easy-to-learn, and extendable programming language that allows web developers to create dynamic content that interacts with databases. In recent years, PHP has edged out Microsoft's proprietary ASP as a popular server-scripting technology. Homepages, database front-ends on the web, command line shell scripts where you want extra functionality, and even basic GUI development can all be implemented with PHP.
Come join the Canada West Coast Chapter of the Society for Technical Communication and learn about the important role PHP plays in web technology and how technical communicators can benefit from learning this language.

Web developer, Peter Gordon is a board member of the Vancouver PHP Users Association, which holds monthly meetings on topics of interest to the web development community. He has been developing PHP sites for over 5 years.

I am wondering if this will be a seminar on learning the basics of PHP or if it just an introduction to the language and what it can do.
