Host: John Locke Foundation. Porter Bell is Executive Director and Job Readiness Program manager at The Hope Center at Pullen. She oversees volunteer-driven programs serving two constituent groups in Raleigh: people experiencing homelessness who are ready to seek employment and at-risk students who can benefit from tutoring and enrichment activities that improve their educational experience and expand social opportunities. A graduate in health education from Appalachian State University, Porter is a North Carolina native. In the fall of 2008 she earned certification in Nonprofit Management from Duke University. Porter began her tenure as the first Executive Director for The Hope Center at Pullen in July of this year. This luncheon is free and open to the public. An optional lunch is available for purchase at the event, or participants may brown bag a lunch if they choose.
