A Graceful Industry: Bentwood Furniture -At-High Museum January 7, 2008

This installation features three examples of bentwood furnishings, exploring the endurance of this technique along with its beauty and its influence on the development of the furniture industry since the early 19th century. In the 20th century, Austrian cabinetmaker Michael Thonet's creations influenced key designers associated with the Modern Movement who developed the use of new materials.
