A Bumbershoot Benefit for 826 Seattle!
Last year, the Seattle PI called it “Bumbershoot at its best. It had everything — nerve, heart, brains, and rock ‘n’ roll.” In fact, it was so successful — and so much fun — that this year it’s part of a six-city national tour called “Revenge of the Bookeaters,” featuring some of the most recognized names in indie-rock, literature, and comedy. Returning to Seattle for our Bumbershoot benefit on September 1st are McSweeney’s co-founder and author Dave Eggers (A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius), author and comedienne Sarah Vowell (Assassination Vacation, NPR’s This American Life), and Daniel Handler (aka Lemony Snicket), along with Stephin Merritt of the Magnetic Fields and a few surprise guests (we’ve been known to have some amazing surprise guests).
