Walk Now for Autism Speaks is a fun-filled event bringing together members from across the autism community in the GTA. Families, friends, teachers, service providers, corporate teams, researchers and celebrity advocates - all walking together to raise money to fund vital research and family services while raising awareness about autism. With bouncy houses, face painters, a Toys’R’Us play area, mascots, stage performers and more – Walk Now For Autism Speaks is an event for the entire community!
Autism is the fastest growing serious developmental disorder among children in North America. 1 out of every 110 children will be diagnosed with autism. 1 in 70 boys. Rates of diagnosis have increased 57% from 2002 to 2006 and an astounding 600% in the last 20 years. Autism is more prevalent than pediatric cancer, AIDS & diabetes combined.
Now, more than ever, we need answers. Now, more than ever, we need your support as walkers, teams, corporate sponsors and volunteers to help us find the missing pieces of the autism puzzle. Experience the power of thousands united by a single cause.
