THE DEVIL’S RAIN, 1975, 86 min. Mark Preston (William Shatner) possesses a powerful ancient book sought by Satanic cult leader Jonathan Corbis (the late Ernest Borgnine) and heads for a desert ghost town to try to beat the devil in a battle of faith. CHRISTINE, 1983, Sony Repertory, 110 min. Horror heavyweight John Carpenter directed and co-composed the music for this adaptation of Stephen King's novel about a 1958 Plymouth possessed by evil. THE LIVING DEAD OF MANCHESTER MORGUE (aka LET SLEEPING CORPSES LIE), 1974, Blue Underground, 95 min. Dir. Jorge Grau. This Spanish-Italian production, released internationally under more than a dozen titles, is set in the English countryside, where an experimental machine designed to kill insects has the unintended effect of reviving dead humans. The zombies nearly get Ray Lovelock and Cristina Galbó, and local police sergeant Arthur Kennedy is of no help to the two travelers - he blames them for the rash of homicides. [HD]
