DESCRIPTION: This class is designed for those who have never danced before or danced very little. BACHATA is a romantic style of dance from the Dominican Republic. This is a popular partner dance is sexy, playful and surprisingly easy. In general it has reached a lot more popularity in recent years. More nightclubs are playing it, and therefore, more people are learning it. MERENGUE: This is the easiest and fastest way to look like you've been dancing for years. The dance is energetic, the music really fires the dancers up. Merengue can be one of the most exciting, sensual, intricate and stylish dances around. This dance is a free-form Latin dance that uses a simple step patterns and good leader-follower connection to make each dance experience unique. The music has distinctive Latin percussion, encouraging you to step on every beat. You will learn the following: the basic step pattern, giving and receiving turns, proper body positioning and hands, footwork styling options, several turn combinations, hip isolations, music theory.
