Fourth of Jul-Ivar's, at Myrtle Edwards Park on Elliott Bay, is Seattle's longest running privately sponsored pyrotechnics show. It began in 1964, when the cash-strapped city approached colorful Seattle restaurateur Ivar Haglund to put on a fireworks display, which is now in its 41st year. In 1989, the event expanded into an all-day celebration.
