3rd Annual Greater New Orleans International Dragon Boat Festival May 12, 2012

Great White North (GWN) is hosting this unique festival in Madisonville, Louisiana, along the Tchefuncte River. This year, the Greater New Orleans International Dragon Boat Festival will be held on Saturday May 12 2012.
According to GWN, this is the world's fastest growing water sport is also the most exciting. Twenty paddlers move in unison, combining strength with teamwork in a boat whose elaborate design originates in ancient China.  You can enter a team to compete of up to 12 paddlers.
The event is free to watch, but there is a fee to participate.  There will also be a great festival on-land with a beer garden, vendors/exhibitors, food marketplace and a kids area, so bring your family and friends to enjoy the day and to cheer you on.
