30 Days Later: The Gallery Show

In conjunction with National Arts and Humanities month this October, the artists of Berkeley City College's Art Marketing class are taking on the challenge of organizing and implementing a full gallery show in just 30 days. Drawings, paintings, digital photography and multi-media work will be displayed at the opening reception: Saturday, October 24th from 5 to 8 pm. The show runs through November 29th and can be viewed by appointment. In the weeks leading up to the show, members will be documenting the entire process on their blog, www.30DaysLater.wordpress.com, which also contains useful links and information for other artists interested in marketing their work. Or, follow 30DaysLater on Twitter!

30 Days Later will showcase the work of a diverse group of established and emerging artists, including fine art drawings from graphomaniac Morgan De Lorenzo, whom critics have compared to a "21st century Heironymous Bosch hopped up on goofballs"; and visionary architecture from Sooyoung Cho, who channels the influence of Korean Shamanism to design public spaces where the living might commune with the dead. Three-dimensional graphics from Yukiko Kojima and Zakee Shah; technical-death-metal-inspired photography by Rameen Navid; surrealist digital collage from Lisa Simonson; photographic mashups based on Thailand's "Buddhist Hell" theme parks from Jane Moran; and cutting-edge digital prints from Sam Sloane and Jacob Grantz represent a wide range of digital techniques. Puerto-Rican-born Neftali Carreira will show a series from his fiery performance-based works. A selection of drawings from Diana Ritchie and Aileen Frankel, and fashion photography from Bryce Marshall and Jesus Gonzales will round out a full evening of savory artistic chaos and enjoyment.
