UNI & HER UKELELE (East Bay CD Release Party!)
with special guest Garrett Gray (from The Perpetual Drifters)
http://www.unimusic.us/

Heather Marie Ellison began singing in nightclubs at the age of fifteen. Later, as a singer for The Savoy Swingers, she caught the eye of Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Johnny Otis and was soon singing back up in the Johnny Otis R&B Revue! In the last 10 years she has formed and toured the world as the beloved, "Uni and Her Ukelele". With 4 full length albums and critical acclaim under her uke, she brings her delightful and enchanting music to the Art Beat Bazaar stage! What a night it will be!!

OWEN HILL, Author, Poet
http://www.pmpress.org/content/article.php?story=OwenHill

Local Author and Poet, Owen Hill, will be reading his work on the Art Beat Bazaar stage this month and it is sure to be a thrill! His writer resume includes: book reviewer for the Los Angeles Times and the East Bay Express, Howard Moss Residency awardee, author of seven collections of poetry and "Loose Ends", a book of short stories. His first novel, "The Chandler Apartments" was called one of the best mysteries of 2002 by the Chicago Tribune. His second in the series of Clay Blackburn mysteries, "The Incredible Double", is equally loved and is available from PM Press in Oakland. Can't wait to hear him read!

SHAREEF ALI
http://www.shareefali.com/

Hailing from St. Louis, Shareef Ali studied music at Oberlin College and brought his talents to the Bay in 2007. Founder of the profound backing ensemble, "the Radical Folksonomy", he has performed regularly in SF and the greater Bay Area. In summer of 2011, Shareef recorded his first solo EP, How To End The War, and toured internationally! During this tour Shareef participated in and documented the Occupy movement unfolding across the country. We are excited to hear him sing on the Art Beat Bazaar Stage!
