Clinton Hill, Brooklyn: South Of the Navy Yard Artists (SONYA), is presenting the 2nd ANNUAL SUMMER @ SONYA fine art exhibition that includes more than thirty-five works in painting, drawing, printmaking, and photography by twenty-one emerging and established artists who are current members of SONYA.

The exhibition will be held from Thursday, September 17th to Thursday October 8th, 2009 at two venues within 3 blocks of each other in Clinton Hill, Brooklyn-TRA Gallery at 35 Claver Place and Classon Walls at 459 Classon Ave. A closing reception and an artist talk will be held on Thursday October 8th, 6:30 - 9pm at Classon Walls. Gallery hours at both venues are Monday thru Friday by appointment; Saturday and Sunday from 12pm to 6pm.

Participating Artists: Kennis Baptiste, Ellie Balk, Trevor Brown, Skip Burroughs, Ramona Candy, Francks F. Deceus, Linn Edwards, Katrina Jeffries, Natasha Harsh, Saira Jacob, Diana Leidel, Diana McClure, Douglas Newton, Kathleen Migliore Newton, Sally Christensen-Novak, Joan B Reutershan, Gina Samson, GG Stankiewicz, Bill Storoniak, Ava Tomlinson, and Iram Yeates.

Every year, SONYA hosts a number of exhibitions showcasing the work of new and existing members. SUMMER @ SONYA, curated by Kennis Baptiste, features art works created this year (2009) and/or inspired by the summer of 2009, by current and new members of SONYA residing or working in the downtown Brooklyn area south of the Navy Yard.
