27th Annual Izzies Awards Ceremony March 25, 2013

The evening's festivities will begin with a reception from 6 to 7pm, followed by the awards ceremony from 7 to 8 pm. A celebration with dessert and coffee will follow the ceremony.

Hosting the ceremony will be David McCauley, Director of AileyCamp Berkeley/Oakland at Cal Performances and Jessica Robinson Love, Executive & Artistic Director at CounterPULSE.

Among those presenting will be Ronn Guidi, Oakland Ballet founder; Elaine LaRussa, arts philanthropist; Frank Shawl, Co-Founder of the Shawl-Anderson Dance Center; Lily Cai, founding Artistic Director of the Lily Cai Chinese Dance Company; Sean Dorsey, founding Artistic Director of Sean Dorsey Dance and Fresh Meat Productions; Kerensa Demars, Artistic Director of Flamenco Al Andaluz; Yannis Adoniou, founding Artistic Director of KUNST-STOFF Contemporary Dance Company; Deborah Vaughn, founding Artistic Director of Dimensions Dance Theater; Lisa Wymore and Sheldon Smith, Co-Artistic Directors of Smith/Wymore Disappearing Acts.

The Izzies Awards honor: Outstanding Achievement in Choreography, Outstanding Achievement in Performance - Individual, Outstanding Achievement in Performance - Ensemble, Outstanding Achievement in Performance - Company, Outstanding Achievement in Music/Sound/Text, Outstanding Achievement in Visual Design, Outstanding Achievement in Restaging / Revival / Reconstruction, Special Award Honorees, and Sustained Achievement Honorees.
