2010 Japan Society Award of Honor Gala November 20, 2010

It is our pleasure to announce the Japan Society of Northern California's annual Award of Honor Gala on Saturday, November 20, 2010. The Japan Society has been promoting the special relationship between Japan and the United States for more than 100 years. This year we celebrate Japan-Bay Area business as we acknowledge two outstanding individuals who have helped cement the connection between our two countries and between Japan and California. Ambassador J. Thomas Schieffer, former US Ambassador to Japan, worked tirelessly to strengthen the US-Japan alliance. Mr. Takahiro Moriguchi, Chairman of JPMorgan Securities Japan, personifies the California connection, having served as President and CEO of Union Bank and now as vice-chair of the Japan Alumni Association of Northern California.

We are also delighted to present a Lifetime Achievement Award to Mr. Hatsuro "Hats" Aizawa, a beloved leader in the San Francisco Bay Area Japanese-American community.

This year's Japan Society gala is a special opportunity to honor these three distinguished leaders, and to help the Japan Society continue its important mission of fostering US-Japan relations in Northern California.
