2009 Port Perry Carbon Neutral Half Marathon/5K Run September 11, 2009

In the year 2000, Port Perry ½ Marathon Director Angela Connolly started "the little country run" nestled along the shores of the Non Quon Nature Reserve and Lake Scugog, Ontario.

A pioneer of the "country race" in Ontario, we are excited to announce the launch of another ground-breaking, or in this case "ground-healing" initiative - Canada's first "Carbon-neutral Half Marathon".

We are working towards becoming Canada’s first race to gain the Council for Responsible Sport environmental certification - Evergreen.

The run will be using only sustainable materials and ecologically responsible suppliers.
