Keynote Speaker:
Alma Cota de Yanez, Executive Director of FESAC, Nogales, Mexico
and WLW 2005 graduate

As Executive Director of FESAC, a community foundation in Nogales, Mexico, ( www.fesac.org ), Alma embodies FESAC's mission: to improve the standard of living of the people in her border town community of nearly 40,000 people, mostly transients from all of Mexico and South America. In 2005, Alma brought her commitment to WLW. As a result, her project of getting 1 computer for 30 NGOs to share quickly turned into 30 computers, one for each -- 23 computers are now in place and building a effective community of NGOs.

With her vision and leadership empowered by WLW and GWLN, Alma is taking on the challenge of shifting the traditional philanthropic mind-set from one of charity to one of creating individuals who are self-sustaining. As Alma challenges herself, her community and all of us benefit.
