WHY: Proceeds raised will benefit the New York City Chapter of the National MS Society.

The New York City Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Society will hold its 2006 MS Walk sponsored by SeronoŽ and PfizerŽ on Staten Island on Saturday, April 22, 2006 (9th annual) and in Manhattan on Sunday, April 23, 2006 (18th annual).

More than 6,000 walkers are expected to walk and help raise more than $3.3 million. Funds raised will support direct services for people with MS and their friends and families in New York City, and national MS research to find a cure for this chronic disease of the central nervous system. Last year?s New York City MS Walk raised a record-breaking $3 million.

People can participate in the MS Walk individually or as part of a team. Anyone participating in the MS Walk must raise at least $50 and are eligible for great prizes. Volunteers and marshals are also needed!
