17th Annual Lafayette Reservoir Run & Elite Mile October 25, 2009

Join us for the 17th Annual Lafayette Reservoir Run - the most popular Fall run in the Bay Area for families and serious athletes alike, sponsored by Oakwood Athletic Club and presented by the Lafayette Chamber of Commerce and the City of Lafayette. Over 2,500 participants compete in a 10K, 5K or 2 mile race through the heart of downtown and around the picturesque Lafayette reservoir. Sprinters, walkers, the "stroller brigade" and many of Lafayette's finest four legged residents share the streets on Sunday, October 25. Race times begin at 8:30am with "day of" registration beginning at 6:30am, though advance registration is encouraged. Enjoy live music and a pancake breakfast provided by the Lafayette Rotary Club. Beneficiaries of the event are local schools and the services and programs of the Chamber. Entrants also have the ability to allocate donations to specific Bay Area schools.

With a new professional runner feature, a dozen four minute and under world-class milers will participate in our 1st ELITE Mile on Mt. Diablo Blvd. Presented by Sports Basement, confirmed runners include JK Withers, Steve Sherer, Cal Grad David Torrance, Tommy Schmitz and local sensation, Tim Bayley.

Parking is available at the BART parking lot, a short walk down to Plaza Center (Mt. Diablo Blvd. at Moraga Rd.) where the festivities will begin. Complete event details and pre-registration is available at www.lafayettechamber.org, www.active.com or via mail.
